Okay…Maybe Someday I’ll understand!

Under: How Outrageous, Uncategorized @ 10:51 pm on Wednesday, 03.22.06

I seem to have this conversation with my friends, my sisters, my mother, and myself every now and then. I understand that the excitement of meeting someone new and getting to know them will consume a lot of your time and that is very understandable - after all this is one of the most important decisions of one’s life … but why is it that everytime a friend meets a potential partner, her life prior to that point seems to have never been and her time is -entirely- dedicated to that person?! I seriously don’t understand!

p.s. No I am not talking about you particulary! :P

Planning a wedding and a home takes a LOT of time; so essentially it is like someone picking up an extra 20 hrs a week at work in conjuction with their full time job. There is really less time to go around - and everyone all of a sudden b/c more interested in your life so they want to see you more. So bottom line is………..u have less time to spend w/friends and family and friends and family wants to see you more often!!! No one is satisfied, except the guy of course.

Unless u have ever met a person u were really into before and unless u have experienced it I don’t think u can gasp the full concept of the feeling of meeting someone that u truly care for and find intriguing. As for me I’m speaking from experience when I say that when u introduced me to my love I tried to gave all my time and attention to her. cause the feel of love makes u push everything to the side. I guess u can call it life’s horse blinders, cause u can only see what’s in front of u and nothing else around u.

Some days ago I had this fear when soemone proposed to my best friend, she was busy with the issue that I was like: what if she gets engaged? where shall I go then :( This is life…

May, yes, you’re right…but no matter how busy one is, I am sure they can find a few minutes to keep in touch, return a call or stop by!

Romeo, I am speechless  …I guess what you’re saying makes sense, however your every day shouldn’t revolve around just one person!

ola, We should always have our space with everyone - including our best friends so that when situations arise in which we cannot be in constant touch, we wont feel a huge void in our lives. I am very happy for my friends who are married now and for those who are getting married and for those who are in the proces of getting engaged. Some of which have not entirely changed,( May May for example has not changed :P ) whereas others - one way or another - have.

I always ask the same question, and I will tell you what everyone tells me…

“You will understand honey when you have someone!!!”

Rana  is that right?! Like I said, giving your friends a bit of space is important - especially when they’re in the initial stages of getting to know someone. It’s very understandable that they’re busy and are unable to spend as much time with you as they did in previously. However, no matter how busy one is, they can find the time to keep in touch even if it’s for 2 minutes.
