Don’t Ask Me!

Under: Uncategorized, How Outrageous @ 5:45 pm on Sunday, 04.30.06

You’d think if a friend or family member asks you to accomany them to the Salon because they want a second opinion that they’d actually take what you have to say into consideration…well not Lilian. Lilian has got to be one of the pickiest people I have ever met and gotten to know so well in my entire life! She described to the hair stylist how she wanted her hair to look, the lady - who I highly recommend by the way- did a great job with Lilian’s hair. As the lady was finishing Lilian’s hair, I couldn’t help but notice Lilian’s facial expressions. She looked as if she was ready to kill someone. Eyes rolling non-stop saying ‘ugh I cannot believe it looks like that!’ ‘Iman, what do you think?’ ‘It looks very nice Lilian, just like you wanted it.’

’IMAN!? NO…this is NOT how I asked her to do it.’ ‘Yes, Lilian, this is exactly how you wanted it.’ ‘Well, does it look nice?’ ‘aha! very nice!’ Of course, Lilian didn’t think it looked nice, but she was in a hurry to get out of the lady’s place. She was very furious. The entire ride to the other salon, Lilian kept touching her hair and insisting that it looks horrible and how she will never ever go back to this lady again. She also expressed her anger with me because I was not there to give her advice on her hair style!

I had told her my honest opinion. Her hair looked very nice! Lilian is the type who doesn’t change her look that often, her hair is the same style anywhere she goes, and so anything that the looks the least bit dramatic would take a few hours for her to get used to. I was so ready to kick her butt and warned her not to utter a single word when we get to the salon for her make-up.

To make a long story short: the make-up artist did a beautiful job on Lilian. Lilian’s facial expressions were not too promising. She had a few comments about the make-up and insisted that her own blush looks nicer and that when she goes home, she is going to apply her own blush, and fix her hair as she prefers.

Next time, don’t ask for my opinion if you do not want to listen! Poor Saed!

But then again, this is the same person who cried her eyes out before her bridal shower because the make-up artist ‘applied too much eyeliner!’

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait a minute . . . . let’s take a stroll down memory lane ya iman . . . shall we?
October 8th 2000 .. . remember? at around 12:00 p.m. (total estimate, by the way) who was complaining to Jamal “this is NOT what I wanted” and went down to the backroom and changed her hairstyle?
And, shall I remind you? “Oh, no you are NOT done” (now say it with an attitude and an emphasis on “NOT”. . does that ring a bell (or bells)? :)
So, who am I talking about ya Iman? Take a wild guess!
Well, these are the ones that I witnessed (and I am only naming two similar, VERY similar incidents to your story) . . . i could go on and talk about the ones I heard. . . was it Ranya’s or Beesan’s wedding?
or both?

Okay, as far as crying goes . . .I TOTALLY understand. well, i will spare you the story, but I can totally relate! Sometimes, it helps to cry . . especially when you think it is too much make-up; it lessens some of the mascara and eyeliner ;)

[…] Lilian is hilarious…She really did look hot! (the hair was not done!) and I guess her family obviously has much different taste than mine… […]
