Under: Around The World, How Outrageous, Uncategorized @ 11:04 pm on Wednesday, 07.12.06

Devasating news out of Beirut, Lebanon … I am watching live coverage between Al-Arabiya, Aljazeera…they are reporting that at least 20 people have been killed as a result of israeli air strikes on southern Lebanon. israel fired rockets at the main runway of Beirut airport as well… in retaliation to Hezbollah’s, the Lebanese resistance group, killing of eight israeli soldiers and the capturing of two in a cross-border attack earlier Wednesday israel ‘promised a severe response.’  [source]

Aljazeera showing the Israeli soldier grandma, but failed to show the deaths of the many Lebanese killed.
Aljazeera English is trying hard to kiss up to the non Arabs to show them they are moderate.

I’m tired of this.. wallahe I’m tired. This nonsense has gone on for too long. What excatly are we supposed to do.
We as a people are caught between our own governments, that are weak, can’t defend our countries, and frankly, couldn’t care less. Then on the other hand we have countries that absolutely hate us, and would like nothing but to wipe us of the earth. And the third (and equally worse) are stupid organizations that claim to act in our name, but in reality make us look bad (and make the situation even worse).
Wallah enough of this bull.

Arab governments seem to have gone blind, deaf and dumb. Not one word of condemnation?? Not a single word?? The silence has even stretched to the so called “influential” Arab governments, a.k.a the region’s best American ass kissers - oh no wait! It’s not ass kissing, it’s diplomacy!! Of course it is! Without this “diplomacy” all this financial aid wouldn’t come pouring in and so those short term gains to their economies wouldn’t exist - the gains that only the upper/upper middle tiers of society can feel… but we won’t get into that now.

Iran condemns the actions of Israel, and the Arabs sit silent, Russia condemns and again the Arabs sit silent. Arabs can shake hands with Olmert, hug Olmert, kiss Olmert so surely, they can criticise Olmert for killing Arab civilians… NO! Are you out of your flipping mind???? It would be extremely “undiplomatic”!! Of course, to top it all off comes a statement from the Saudis that indirectly puts full blame onto Hezbollah for the current situation; instead of blaming the Israelis for holding thousands upon thousands of hostages, or for occupying the Sheb’a Farms or for making up stories about God promising them some land… but we won’t get into that either..

Anyway, after hearing what the Saudis had to say, I think that the silence of Arab governments is, perhaps, a blessing.

Ah, the stupid Saudi regime, in a pathetic response, indirectly is blaming HizbAllah. Where was the stupid regime when the Israeli planes violated the skies of Lebanon on many occasions? Can those cowards remember the Massacres that have been done by the Israelis in Lebanon? To get this low and cowardice is beyond my imagination of an Arab. Arabs for crying out f—— loud supposed to be courageous. Or is it the Saudi regime is not Arab?

I know this will not sit well with you guys, but in some respects, Hizballa is partly to blame for the situation. They saw what Israel was doing in Gaza, and they know that no one (least of all the arab leaders) will stop israel regardless of what it does. What exactly do the people of lebanon gain from hizballah kidnapping the soldiers? All they’ve gotten so far is death and destruction caused by israel. Hizballa clearly wasn’t thinking about what’s in the best interest of the lebanese people.

Abdelqader -

You are right, it didn’t sit well with me at all. It’s all well to say, if Hizbollah hadn’t done this then people would still be hanging out in cafes in Beirut and yes it is true. But don’t you realise that this is the problem in attitude that Arabs have??? As long as we have nice clothes, a nice car, a nice house, then quite frankly we don’t give a crap about anything else in the world… in fact we don’t give a crap if part of our land is occupied! Why? Because it’s not happening within a 10km radius of me so it’s cool, I don’t need to worry about it.

We really have become a materialistic society, even more so than those who invented the concept! And quite frankly it’s disgraceful! We simply care about what we receive now, today and we don’t give a shit about the consequences of our actions. Yes, if we sit on our backsides all day, say yes to anything Americans demand of us, open up our economies so we have a Mcdonald’s on every one of our streets… yeah in the short-term we will have lots of pretty skyscrapers that fool us into believing that we are civilized societies. But what happens 50yrs down the road?? If Arabs are literally this helpless infront of Israeli aggression what happens if let’s say for example Israel decides, hey, we want to realise our dream of a Greater Israel that stretches from the Euphrates to the Nile?? Perhaps this sounds a bit far fetched, some weird delusion that’ll never occur but you know what with this type of attitude, why would we care to stop Israel from expanding?? Why would we resist it? They’ll build nicer fancier cities, Arabs would be cool with having Israeli passports, because it doesn’t matter to let go of your identity when you’re living a 5 star life, even if it means living under David’s star.

Arabs lack dignity, pride, and self-respect. Arabs want everything in life but they don’t want to work for it and that’s the honest truth. At this point in time, the “comfortable” lifestyle that Arabs are living in, wasn’t earned, it was given to them on certain conditions. Now, all the countries that are today considered developed or powerful, were all countries that earned it, they had to sacrifice blood and comfort and few nice coffee shops for the sake of acting on their freewill - until we are prepared to sacrifice our blood and our comfort for the sake of our freedom we will never be the ones to decide our fate and so we will never know the meaning of true comfort.

Let me just add one more thing - on the political spectrum I’m in complete opposition to Hizbollah as I am 100% pro-secularism, but that doesn’t mean that I believe they are the ones to blame.
