Wedding at the Wall

Under: Around The World, Palestine, People & Places @ 1:51 am on Saturday, 07.15.06

Ramallah- Ma’an- More than 26 demonstrators, including a bride on her wedding day, were injured in the West Bank village of Bil’in on Friday afternoon. Every Friday, Palestinian and international peace activists gather in Bil’in, a village west of Ramallah, to protest against the illegal separation wall being built through the village’s lands.

On 14 July, groom Rasmi Mansour Aziz from Bil’in, and bride Iman Hammad, an American citizen with Gazan origins, chose to hold their wedding ceremony at the wall as part of Bil’in’s weekly protest. The Israeli soldiers showed no respect for the wedding and started attacking everybody with batons, rubber bullets and tear gas.

Twenty-six of the demonstrators, including the bride, and five journalists, were left injured. Among the injured journalists were Muhammad Mheisen, a Reuters photographer; Abbas Al Momeny, an AP photographer and Fadi Al ‘Arori, a Ma’an photographer. Moreover, an ambulance was also hit. After the rally ended, Israeli forces invaded the village where they confronted heavy resistance.

Quite a unique and very patriotic wedding! Wishing Iman, Muhammad, Abbas, and Fadi a speedy recovery and congratulations to the Bride & Groom!

Hi Iman, hope you’re doing much better now? Your wedding is a perfect example of the resistance you speak of. Congratulations, again. You’re absoultely right. I love your spirit and the spirit of the many Palestinians living under those very harsh circumstances yet they keep going.

Best wishes always!

Bismillah - Allahu Akbar

“And Slacken NOT in following up the enemy. If you are suffering hardships they too are suffering similar hardships. BUT you have HOPE from Allah, whilst they have none. And Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom” - Surah An Nisa 4:104

Dearest Iman and Rasmi

Through the face of adversity, oppression and illegal occupation you have TRIUMPHED and still do. I am in tears reading of your bravery, your sincerity of the heart and how you have completed half your deen. How did Allah make it easy for you to be married. Iman I bet you never expected to be married this way. Subhan’Allah.

May Allah bless your union and be pleased with you both. I am overjoyed to hear of this. Mabrook, congratulations!!! You are both in our thoughts, prayers and duas. May Allah give you much courage - Ameen.

The Israelis forget easily their own terrorism which they commemorated recently by their celebration of the anniversary of the bombing of the King David hotel - killing British soldiers, Palestinian civilians and ethnically cleansed 251 people from one village. The Israelis - of this kind - as they are some who fight for Palestinian rights - are ENEMIES of truth, justice and themselves.

May God grant you glory…victory has its price. In the meantime let their terrorism be a source of strength to you all. Ameen. Al Qur’an 7:189 “It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love) ………..”

Al Qur’an 3:195 And their Lord hath accepted of them, and answered them: “Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female: Ye are members, one of another:………”

Its amazing to see someone use such a special day in their life (getting married) to make a statement such as you have made. Palestine will one day be free of the forces that are occupying it, inshallah!

Congratulations

I would just like to thank all my friends and others that commented on here.

But I need to clarify something. One site made a mistake on my hubby’s name. His name is Mansour Aziz Mansour. He goes by Mansour Mansour. I dont know how the Rasmi came about..but it spread pretty quickly.

I really wish that all those dear friends of mine could have been present in my wedding. I learned a love that I promised myself I will never forget. A love of Palestine and a love of my Mansour.

Inshallah I can one day fight in the front lines of non violent demonstrations alongside all those dear to me.

Inshallah one day, Palestine will be free!!

Ameen ya rub!

CORRECTION!!!!!

1. Marriage is NOT completion of half your deen - it is the START of it…if its done with the wrong intention one may be -40, 50 whatever percentage…better intentions it COULD be 2%, 19% etc whatever as Allahu Alim.

2. Be very careful on what you support amongst the Shia and Rawafid - you have NO idea and NO right to dare insult Hussam on Naseeb.com….you think the “Hizbollah” care for the Operation Samson’s Pillar going on RIGHT NOW in your own city of Gaza by the IDF when “Hizbollah” cared not for even what happened in the American Shia bloodbath of their own brethren in Iraq??? No way…The Shia are descendents of Abu Lu’luah Majoosi (a Persian fire worshipper) and Abdullaah ibn Saba’ (a Jew). So look for a second at the REALITY of what they stand for and STOP your idiocy and BLIND support of them!!!

3. You want proof here is your proof from The Guardian Newspaper and a link to the full article on the REALITY of “Hizbollah” - The Lebanese Sunnis and the rest of the sunnis are NEXT:

As the shells fall around them, Hizbullah men await the Israelis

Ghaith Abdul-Ahad, south of Tyre
Saturday July 29, 2006
The Guardian

A Hizbullah military leader interviewed by the British paper ‘The Guardian’ said:

“If Israel comes out victorious from this conflict, this will be a victory for the Sunnis and they will take the Shia community back in history dozens of years to the time when we were only allowed to work as garbage collectors in this country. The Shia will all die before letting this happen again.”

And even when the battle with the Israelis is over, he adds menacingly, Hizbullah will have other battles to fight. “The real battle is after the end of this war. We will have to settle score with the Lebanese politicians. We also have the best security and intelligence apparatus in this country, and we can reach any of those people who are speaking against us now. Let’s finish with the Israelis and then we will settle scores later.”

http://www.guardian.co.uk/frontpage/story/0,,1832971,00.html

4. I advise you with full research and knowledge..Hussam is NOT one to trivialise on these things and he is far more learned than you or I on it. Retract what you said, face the reality or face a duel enemy - the Sahyoun and the “Hizbollah”…SO APOLPGISE TO HUSSAM - read and get your head out of the clouds with the emotion and see what Gaza is in now thanks to “Hizbollah” who fight never for your cause ever….

5. Ignore this and I swear nothing will protect from both the IDF nor “Hizbollah’s” vengeance but worse than even that Allah’s wrath will fall upon your head and your ventures now will be worthless - ALLAHU ALIM. With the IDF you know where you stand…with the Rawafid (Shia) they are a worse enemy….I have warned you.

Salams Iman and Mansour, firstly i wish to congratulate you both, i wish u the best of luck in the future inshallah :) I hope u and everyone who was injured is better and fully recovered :) And a big thumb’s up to Mansour- who i was told was trying to protect u? :)

Secondly i’d like to say that ur courage and strength is wonderful and you are the first couple-symbol (that i know of anyway) in Palestine and elsewhere where there are hardships. It’s great that you can live your lives normally (almost) demanstrating that no humans can ever take ur souls away! Those jews must be gutted ;)

All the best for the present and the future :) Too bad i don’t know u personally, but i hope this reaches you and your hubby Mansour:)

All my love,

I really want to thank all those once more.

CRYSTAL!! I miss you soo much and wish I could have shared this day with an old dear friend of mine. Love you so much!

Kaniza, we can talk about our little differences elsewhere, its quite senseless to bring up an irrelevant topic here.

Thank you all once more!

With love,

Iman Hammad

p.s. All those that were injured are now ok. The bruises that we endured are not that visible. And the pain has eased a while ago. But the pain in our hearts is ever incurable, atleast until we resist against this brutal Israeli nation.

Those that wish to come to Palestine and work with the ISM, we have a place for every single one of you. Please consider a mission that will change your lives..for the better.

Mashallah Mabruuk Iman and Mansour on the greatest wedding. What a great way to celebrate. May Allah Almighty Rahim grant you both every wish desired by your hearts. I am so proud of you guys and all that you are doing for palestine. You are trully one of the people who Gandhi made a quote of “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Inshallah keep us informed dear and Mabruuk again.

Two the 2 “Imans” …hahaha senseless…its got everything to do with it…

To the first “Iman” who asked if I am on something - yes its called common sense…get a huge does of it girlfriend

And to you Iman…aka MissChe…I expected this response from you. Arabs accept being conquered hence the strife your lands are in…its got everything to do with it…my comments but as I say you wont see that. Secondly the minute one Arab has some balls to stand their ground against the Israelis, for you people its such an incredulous thing that you start supporting them, like the Hizbos…

I have nothing further to add. You have your beliefs and I have mine.

Over on this topic and out of here

Iman

08.16.06 @ 4:45 pm

Kaniza,
Common sense as it pertains to what exactly?

Congratulations to the newlyweds and hamdellah for the speedy recovery for everyone.

The longer this wall stays, the harder it will fall. It’s inevitable.

Iman Hammad

08.19.06 @ 9:05 am

Thank you Fadi,Hadsan and Hamzeh..

It is very kind of you to show your support. Its difficult these days. Last week an Israeli activist fighting for our struggle was shot with two rubber bullets in the head and one in the neck from close range…an illegal 5 meter range, whereas its legally required to be a 40 meter range.

They had to remove the bullet that was lodged in his head (one bullet was lodged..fracturing his skull as it entered). And they removed shards of bone and dead brain tissue. Today after 8 days, he has been returned to intensive care after a serious infection he was suffered.

Please pray for him..a fallen comrad. Also last week, Rena a Danish ISM activist with our movement was hit in the head with the butt of the soldiers rifle gun. The next day she only felt the effects…she was admitted into the hospital with a concussion, then transferred by her consulate to an Israeli hospital where they found internal bleeding in her brain.

Pray for them both, August 11th was a sad day for us all.

i was surfing the net when this article grabbed my attention and cached my eyes. After reading it over and over i was speechless, it’s amazing how with all the sadness and frustration that we hold on our shoulders as Palestinians yet we still resist and refuse to give up. Iman, your wedding story will be one of many that was written by Palestinian heroes around the world and will not be forgotten.
I wish you are doing just great now and you enjoying your marriage
