She is SO optimistic

well you know there’s no point in giving a shit about anyone in life… seriously there isn’t, if everyone’s decided to adopt a flipping capitalist mentality in some form or another then i’m not gonna change it nor is anyone else who doesn’t have the power and the “capital” to do so, so the only solution is to not give a shit… accumulate your own capital…and then, if at the end of it all, you still remember and have some sense of principal in you remaining then you may be in a position to make a change to help blah blah blah….but till then you really shouldn’t give a shit …

said one too depressed to be blessed person! :x

“You are originally Arab”

Under: Uncategorized, Palestine, Around The World @ 11:20 am on Thursday, 07.20.06

This is an email I just received from a friend of mine who moved to Jordan last year. Her true story is just one example of israel’s many racist policies.

“You are originally Arab” the Israeli soldier told me you are not permitted to enter…These were the last words I heard uttered out of the soldiers mouth before boarding the bus back to the Jordan Border, King Hussein Bridge.

Every year my family and I get ready for our annual family vacation to Palestine, this was a pilgrimage I have enjoyed since I was a baby. I was born and raised in Chicago, my parents do not hold Palestinian Id’s because they left Palestine around 1967 to Jordan where they were granted Jordanian citizenship. I too carry a Jordanian citizenship along with my 7 brothers and sisters, we have carried these since we were born; but never did we run into a problem when traveling to Palestine, not once were we asked if we carried other passports.
Upon reaching the Allenby border crossing we were greeted very coldly by the Israeli soldiers, but the tourists on our bus who didn’t possess the distinct Arab features were greeted with arms wide open. (Read on …)

A Psalm of Life

Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream! –
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

secret confessions of an israeli

I Am the Israeli I am the focus of Palestinian fury
I caused the Palestinian Diaspora and the exile
I refuse to provide Palestinian travel documents
And I deny the owners of the land I stole,
Rightful possession of an ID card.

I imprison Palestinians without trial
I beat and torture them
I fear their anger, but envy their freedom
For I am a slave of my passions.
Though I am their jailer
They enjoy more liberty than me,
For their minds are free
From the oppression I inflict on their bodies.
I am the one who detains Palestinians
Without their consent, in the absence
Of a trial by law. (Read on …)

Wedding at the Wall

Under: Palestine, People & Places, Around The World @ 1:51 am on Saturday, 07.15.06

Ramallah- Ma’an- More than 26 demonstrators, including a bride on her wedding day, were injured in the West Bank village of Bil’in on Friday afternoon. Every Friday, Palestinian and international peace activists gather in Bil’in, a village west of Ramallah, to protest against the illegal separation wall being built through the village’s lands.

On 14 July, groom Rasmi Mansour Aziz from Bil’in, and bride Iman Hammad, an American citizen with Gazan origins, chose to hold their wedding ceremony at the wall as part of Bil’in’s weekly protest. The Israeli soldiers showed no respect for the wedding and started attacking everybody with batons, rubber bullets and tear gas.

Twenty-six of the demonstrators, including the bride, and five journalists, were left injured. Among the injured journalists were Muhammad Mheisen, a Reuters photographer; Abbas Al Momeny, an AP photographer and Fadi Al ‘Arori, a Ma’an photographer. Moreover, an ambulance was also hit. After the rally ended, Israeli forces invaded the village where they confronted heavy resistance.

Quite a unique and very patriotic wedding! Wishing Iman, Muhammad, Abbas, and Fadi a speedy recovery and congratulations to the Bride & Groom!

Whatever…Maybe!

I have no idea what gets into people sometimes… I seriously don’t think the problem is with me…but it so seems to be the case when dealing with certain people who are supposed to be your good friends…I consider myself as one who is open to criticism - especially coming from good friends whom I like…however when it becomes that everytime I talk to someone they must make sure to always point out every single negative aspect I might have, I just cannot help but ‘think’ that yeah maybe something is - indeed - wrong with me! maybe I talk too much, maybe I think too much, maybe I am annoying, maybe I am critical (but I surely don’t get as critical as certain people), maybe I just a very negative person… or maybe that person just tends to bring out in me those seemingly negative traits they always mention, maybe. anyway, I am starting to be very sick of it!

but yeah…whatever…

So, what’s new? And depressing?

Why does he look so sad? so hopeless? Yeah, I know but I am sick of reiterating over and over again my undying outrage and disgust with the Arab ‘leader’ and sometimes even Arab citizens…

Breaking News: Witnesses: People flood into Gaza from Egypt after border wall blasted. They are referring to Palestinian people who have been prevented from entering Gaza since the israeli offensive began a few weeks ago. The Palestinian government said 6 Palestinians, including an infant, had died while stranded on the closed Egypt-Gaza border. The bodies of two of the dead were allowed into Gaza on Friday. Imagine if Egyptians decided to join in!? A start of a revolution??! I’ll go take a nap and dream of what will happen next!

On Character

Under: Uncategorized, Random Thoughts @ 10:42 pm on Wednesday, 07.12.06

Do you ever stop and ask yourself whether you’re an honorable, ethical, honest, decent person? How can you really judge that?

Here is a list of questions that were suggested we ask ourselves that will help us better understand who we truly are…I doubt that these questions are meant to be answered immediately, they’re rather a set of questions requiring deep inner thoughts and firm honesty… and no matter what your answers are, I am sure that once faced with the real life situation that will determine your true character your actions may completely be different than your answers…

So here they are - some of which I added my personal touch to…

Gaza - a Graveyard

Under: Palestine, Around The World @ 10:15 pm on Tuesday, 07.11.06

Watching coverage - some of which live - on Palestine TV of the latest israeli strike on a residential home in Sheik Radwan neighborhood in Gaza that killed 5 and left more than 15 injured is emotionally and mentally draining… Bodies were being pulled from under the rubble …some unidentified body parts, too… Some men were pushing the cameras away asking news crews not to air anything…Very graphic images … make your stomache turn and your heart bleed…these are bodies of young children, men and women…A family that once was is no longer… But you know, AP reported that the israeli military said it attacked the house because it was a “meeting place for terrorists” who were planning attacks and rocket launches…And that reason will always qualify as a justification and israel will get away with its continued atrocities, as always…and as Azmi Bishara writes: But the real “infrastructure of terrorism” is not to be found in that poverty-stricken collection of slums they call Gaza. The real infrastructure of terrorism is the Israeli occupation and Israeli occupation policy.

Watching footage of the injured being rushed to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza seemed hopeless…the number of the injured had already out-numberd the number of available beds…and with shortage in medicine and medical supplies how are they being treated anyway?

What’s ironically sad is Aljazeera’s way of reporting this:

“At least five people have been killed and 15 wounded in an explosion that destroyed the house of a Hamas member, as Israeli tanks and troops pushed into the central Gaza Strip.”

“The house is in the Sheik Radwan neighbourhood of the city, a known Hamas stronghold.”

Using Hamas member blatantly hints justification of the strike that killed children, women and men.

“From the force of the blast, the two-storey house belonging to Hamas member Muhammad al-Salmiah, collapsed, burying men, women and children under the rubble.” Aljazeera’s Western Media style is very disgusting. How many times does the word Hamas have to be mentioned in the same article, reporting the same incident?

A side note: his name is not Mohammed. Palestine TV reported it as Dr. Nabil Al-Salmiah.

”The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have continued their excessive offensive against Palestinian civilians and property in the Gaza Strip. The total number of deaths since the beginning of the IOF incursion into the Strip has reached 57, while the number of injuries stands at 121, including 31 children. Further, 103 houses have been damaged, 14 of which were totally destroyed. 265 dunums of agricultural lands have been leveled. In addition, 33 patients who underwent medical treatment in Egypt are struck inside the building of Refah Terminal. 5 patients were sent back to Egyptian hospitals due to the deterioration of their health conditions, while an elderly man, Fahmi Dawood, 70, and a 16-year-old child, Mohammed Shorrab died due to the closure of the terminal. Further, 939 evacuated Palestinians are now staying in two UNRWA schools which are being used as shelters while 190 families have approached these schools to receive food supplies, since the IOF have maintained the tight siege on Al Shouka area, in eastern Rafah, cutting all humanitarian supplies from the area. Typical Man

Under: Uncategorized @ 9:12 pm on Monday, 07.10.06

A typical [Arab] man - in my view:

It’s okay for him to date, but his sister cannot
It’s okay for him to go clubbing, but his sister cannot
It’s okay for him to go to strip clubs, but his female counterpart cannot
It’s okay for him to smoke in public, but his sister cannot
It’s okay for him to stay out late, but his sister cannot
It’s okay for him to hang out with girls, but his sister cannot hang out with guys
He’ll date an Arab girl, then talk crap about her when they break up
If he sees any Arab girl doing any of smoking, going out, clubbing, hanging out with guys then he’ll automatically label her as a slut and one with a very bad reputation
He believes the world revolves around him
He believes he’s God’s gift to women
He will automatically assume you’re in love with him if he acknowledge him with a smile
He will date till he gets bored, then when he feels it’s time to settle down he will run to Mommy so she can choose a sweet innocent girl from back home for him to marry
In one word, he’s a hyporcite!
