A wedding day in Africa calls for a Libation. A few drops of wine or other liquid is poured on the ground for ancestors to enjoy.

In Africa? So they do this in Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Ethiopia, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and the remaining 50+ countries in Africa?

It annoys me when people refer to Africa as a country, it's such an imperialistic view that prefers to portray Africa as a jungle inhabited by uncivilized bushmen instead of a land that knew civilization before Europe through Nubia, Axum, Ancient Ghana and Great Zimbabwe (yeah, I deliberately skipped over Ancient Egypt since it's too often promoted as the sole civilisation to come out of Africa). Diversity exists in Africa as it does in every continent and civilization existed in Africa as it has done in every continent and developed cities exist throughout Africa as they do in every continent.

It's a sad thing that in the 21st century, we still haven't decolonialised our minds; we view Africa as a country and the Arab World as the "Middle East".
