Ice Cream?

November 27, 2006 | Category: Around the world, How Outrageous, Palestine

(Taken in Jerusalem Mall in 2002)

By the way, this is a typical scene back home, especially in Jerusalem… walking down the streets of Jerusalem, you will definitely walk past settlers carrying machine guns…even young boys and girls walk around with machine guns as if they’re purses or back-packs! I remember the first time I walked past one, I had to hold on tight to Maryam! At first, it’s pretty strange and very scary… but it doesn’t take long to get used to it and quickly becomes a very natural thing! pretty sad, isn’t it!

I remember the first time seeing this at airports overseas thinking holy $#!T (this was prior to 9/11) and then in US airports after (of course without the huge shock). But it wasn’t too strange as they were dressed in military fatigues…but these girls. WOW! The guns are practically taller than them. My police officers aren’t armed with such weapons and if they were in any African nation, they would be called Children Soliders.

A thought jumped to my mind about the so called “civilians” being targeted in Israel!

Israel has no civilians per se…It is a propaganda stunt to cover their crimes. The Land thieves are the worst creatures you want to deal with. I speak of experience. At age of 18 you must be serve in the Army.

Yeah! And a picture of a Palestinian child carrying a gun(toy!) travels the world!

I visited Jerusalem before the Intifada, it wasn’t like that, but, these are the same girls that you’d see inside the Allenby gateway (el jesr el yahodi), with the same machines guns but wearing uniforms.

Hi guys, it’s different when one is dressed in uniform, but for ‘civilians’ to be roaming the streets with machine guns attached to their hips or around their shoulders is quite a sad scene not to mention scary at first!

Roba, no I didn’t take it.
