huh?

This is by far the most out of the ordinary thing that happened this week so far…

Phone rings…the number looks somewhat familiar but cannot quite make it out…I decide to pick up:

Me: Hello

Man: Boo. Did I scare you?

Me: Excuse me?

Man: Haha haha (sounded amused)

Me: Who is this?

Man: C’mon, you don’t know?

Me: No. Wrong number perhaps. (thinking: I know I should hang up by now.)
Man: Do you like silk pajamas?

Me: Ugh! don’t you have anything better to do! (again, thinking: really, I should hang up already!)

Man: What’s better than silk? oh I know…do you (emphasizes on the you) wanna know?
Me: I believe you have the wrong number and wrong person…bye! (and I hung up without giving him the chance to say anything!)

one minute later the phone rings…same number. I ignore it…he didn’t leave a message. Thankfully! so what the hell was that all about! Maybe he dialed the wrong number without realizing it ..who knows, but I know for sure that I was not going to waste any more of my minutes and time on some random nonsense!

Hi Iman…don’t you hate that? I mean, don’t people grow out of that when they are 10? In Jordan, even if it STARTS as a wrong number, then the guy seems to think I owe him an explanation as to why a foreigner lives here.

Hi Reem. It really is very unusual for me…I thought it was a bit odd actually!

Hi Knizi, first I did not forget about State St. Holiday Display. In fact that same Monday I told you I was going I went…I took pictures of the huge Christmas tree on State St. of the display and the vera wang designed tree inside Macy’s …that same day, the camera was lost :( and it wasn’t even my camera! so I do apologize for not putting up any pictures for you. I will post some very soon.

and yes, you’re right..they do need to grow up!I guess there are a lot of losers out there - sadly!

Hi Mohammed, I don’t think so!

I myself have never been a fan of silk. If I were going to make telephone calls to random women then I would ask if they liked velvet since it is much smoother and softer, in my opinion. What I cannot understand is if this was a wrong number/stranger engaging in flirtatious behaviour or if this man was a salesman working for a silk corporation trying to sell you high quality silk pyjamas. Perhaps he was trying to flirt WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY trying to sell you silk pyjamas. Quite an inventive sales strategy, I have to admit. :)

Iman, you hung up at the perfect time. I don’t even WANT to know what the guy was going to say was better than silk. :)

How come I never get anyone to call me and ask about silk? :(

ok ok I’ll back off a little. Sometimes, it’s a friend who is joking with u (I know I do that with my friends, bas batbahdal ba3deeha). However, hanging up seems to be the right thing to do and ASAP in such situations.

Saad, lol…if that’s the case, then that’s pretty horrible cold calling skills.

Bo3Bo3, hey there! hope all is well. trust me you wouldn’t want some random psycho calling you like that… (or who knows, maybe you would  ) …

Iman, hatta low I didn’t see the photos, thank you so much for going for me in absenta! I’m blessed! I’m choking over a Vera Wang Christmas tree, for real? The ultimate commercialization of a holy-day. I’m so sorry about that camera tho, for your sake.

Hey, glad you discovered the Metro…just think of all the shoes you can buy with the gas and parkign money you saved!

LOL you reminded me of what happened on the day of my sister’s engagement. I was so busy that I could barely take any jokes, the phone rings:

    Me: hello
    man: hello, who is it?
    Me: Ola
    Mna: momken net3arraf
Me: i6la3 men rasi (not the exact wording but same idea)

Then I hung up and switched to silent…

After a few minutes I saw some missed calls and this message on my mobile:

    “Ana Ghassan”

P.S: Ghassan is my sister’s husband :D He jsut picked the wrong day to joke with me :D

Kinzi, you’re welcome! I wish I was able to show you. The Tree inside Macy’s was decorated by Vera Wang. It was very beautiful actually!

And the MetrA is great! today I bought another pair of boots (I know…one of my guilty-less pleasures)

Ola, lol.. did I tell you that I don’t like the name Ghassan?? :P
