Seriously.

Some of the weirdest, crappiest, pathetically hilarious, ugh unbelievable, hmm hello ( I seriously cannot even find the most appropriate term to describe it) things happened these past few days…

 What’s wrong with people? Why do some lie so much? it’s programming. programming. NOT program. I can’t stand liars…but who does anyway!

Ewwww! Yuck! Gross! Sick!

I’ve been wearing tennis shoes to work and from work ever since I started taking the Metra…since it’s a pretty good walk… I change into my heels when I get to the office…Yesterday’s outift would’ve looked horrendous with tennis shoes…so I didn’t even bother wearing tennis shoes, and just put my heels on at home…As I was walking to the station, my heel got stuck in one of those scary metal grates on the sidewalks …It scraped off my heels almost entirely!(and that’s exactly why I alway avoid walking over those metal grates! my other ultimate fear is actually falling in! thankfully that hasn’t happened. yet.) I should sue the City of Chicago! I had just bought that pair!

My toe nail split in half! so painful!

so hot! too hot!

The train almost derailed today! Oddly, there isn’t a way to communicate with the train conductor/engineer at all … for security purposes, they really should consider installing a two-way intercom system! and since there are restrooms on board, there should be intercoms inside there as well. Imagine being on a nearly empty train late at night, with a possible psycho/mass murder sharing the same cart…he (almost all mass murders are males) starts acting weird…anyone should be able to press that button for help if - God forbid - the situation ever calls for it…I definitely would’ve used it today to ask why he was trying to kill us!

My few Indian friends are celebrating Eid Al-Adha on Monday… this is unbelievably ridiculous! Do they go to the same Hajj every normal Muslim goes to?

Calling someone a monkey look-alike is so mean! Despite being known as ‘mean Elaine’ to some, I will never ever bring myself to say that about someone! that’s just too insensitive!

lack of sleep is worse than PMS!

What exactly do you mean by normal Muslim? I’m a Pakistani Muslim and I think my Muslim-ness is pretty normal even though I celebrated Eid a day after Arab Muslims did. Islam is not monolithic and there are a variety of opinions and interpretations in the Muslim World. As far as Islam is concerned, this notion of Arab supremacy must end. For crying out loud, we South Asian Muslims outnumber you Arab Muslims. We are one third of the Ummah while you guys aren’t even a fifth. Please be humble and don’t consider yourselves better than us because we are all equal before Allah. Eid Mubarak.

Saad: Happy Eid to you…so tell me, why did you celebrate Eid Al-adha a day after ‘Arab Muslims’ did?

First off, I’d like to apologize for the tone of my earlier post. Looking at it now, it seems a little bit rude and sarcastic. And for this I’m sorry. I was a little irritated at the implication that some Muslims might be considered abnormal. With regards to your question, I’m not entirely sure why but I think it may ahve had something to do with differing views on when 10 Dhul Hijja actually occurred. I know that most of the Arab run mosques here in Toronto had the Eid prayer on Saturday while the Pakistani controlled mosques had it on Sunday. It’s kind of a shame. I think if we all celebrated on the same day, it would lead to a sense of more unity among the global Muslim community. It’s sort of like some Muslim countries start Ramadan a day after others due to varying opinions regarding the lunar calendar. If we can’t even agree on minor issues like this, it’s no wonder the Muslim world is in the state that it’s in.

Saad,
Eid Al-Aldha in particular is the Eid that every single Muslim regardless Arab or non should observe on the same day! I just cannot understand how that particular on can be argued!
