I think the common folk on both sides are ready for peace...and they've been for a long time. They realize that neither side is going away or giving up. Mothers are sick of losing their sons and daughters, kids are longing for the day they can play outside without any fear, teens are ready for the day when they can pursue their dreams and aspirations, and fathers dream of the day where they can have decent jobs to provide for their families.

It's the leaders that are in place that are preventing it. They are not held accountable. They teach hatred and destruction and encourage senseless killings. Imagine the government using the resources for other things. The leaders lack the courage to die for something they really beleive in and none them are true statesmen. What did Arafat accomplish? Sharon, Bibi, or Barak? Their agreements are not worth the paper they were printed on and only lead to more death and hatred on both sides. They played the war of words and talked tough, but when it came to action they went off and hid, sitting in their office, while their people die in the streets senselessly. They blamed the the other side for the woes of their people. They are the ones to blame as they were corrupt and worshiped the almighty dollar/dinar/shekel while their people scrounged, eking out a pathetic existance. And people look up to them as heroes?

I really am tired of all the talk. Hopefully this will be the spark that ingites the masses, who really care about their country and fellow citizens, into forcing their leaders to sit down and finally make peace once and for all.

Iman, sorry for the long comment. I really need to get my own blog ;-)
