Blame it on telepathy…

It’s Saturday. Why am I up this early?

I’m starting to get very sick of winter… Each season has its special taste, but I’ve had enough of winter. I’ve had enough of the deceiving sun. Looking outside and seeing how sunny it is, one would think it’s 100 degrees out there. I miss the hot air, I miss my sandals, I miss my outdoor jogs. This summer is going to be a special summer, for I vow to jog 4 times a week.

It hasn’t snowed much this winter, but the snow that fell that past few days made up for that. We had a major snow storm earlier this week. On my way home from work on the storm day, I was hoping that Layla, my sister in law, would go into labor any minute. She wasn’t too happy when I shared my wishes with her, and asked why I would hope for such thing on the worst day of winter so far…I told her that it would be interesting to see how fast my brother would be able to get her to the hospital. “Are you serious Iman, I most definitely wouldn’t want to be around your brother as I’m contracting and especially in such weather conditions. I probably would deliver as we are pulling out of the driveway, do you see how bad it is out! Who’ll pull the baby out then?” I told her that her father lives next door to them! She was grossed out at the mere thought of such happening :D

Anyway…

I went to bed very late last night. At 5 am this morning I woke up to major major major cramping; abdominal cramping I’ve never experienced before. Painful is an understatement. I couldn’t go back to sleep. At 5:30 am, I get a call from my brother, Baha, telling me that Layla had the baby at 5:10 am. I told him that I woke up to horrendous cramps at 5 am and couldn’t go back to sleep. He said, in a very sarcastic tone, it must be a telepathic connection you and Layla have! Whatever, but seriously it’s true :d Baha has always said that he feels sorry for who ever is going to marry me…:D guess what? his wife and I have SO much in common, we could practically pass for twins ..HA!

Baby remains nameless…father and mother need to come to an agreement on the name…but honestly, if one cannot be reached then, ultimately, it should be the mother’s choice! After all,  She’s the one who was in labor from 8 pm last night! and I bet he was snoring :D

Welcome to our world, Baby! A world the total opposite of what you’ve been confined to for the past 9 months, but with the unconditional love of your mother, father, siblings, family, your favorite auntie (Auntie Iman), and God’s will you shall get used to and fully enjoy!

Salamtek Iman … Hopefully you will feel better now.

Parents need to come to an agreement on the baby’s name.. That’s my official response. But my personal response is that it’s THE FATHER’S right to name the baby.
The both were pregnant for 9 months. He’s stuck in this for the long haul, he’s going to be in labor for the rest of his life.

If it’s a baby girl then picking the baby’s name should be kept for the mom.. this is my rule ;)
