Why I suck…

Under: Uncategorized, Thought of The Day @ 10:24 am on Friday, 04.20.07

because I, sometimes - maybe a lot of the times even - over react to things not worth it

because I can exaggerate as in overstress, dissect, over analyze, dwell on something and not as in ‘add to’ making it a completely different story

because I don’t seem to let things go when I’m frustrated. And I really want to be able to control that because there will be more times when I will be frustrated and angry, again.

because I’m very impulsive when frustrated

because I give myself the right to care too much, coming off as perhaps too obsessive & controlling

because I feel that I’m misunderstood when it comes to being judgmental

because I give myself the right to think that I know what’s better for someone more than they know what’s better for them

because I most likely upset you with my words, sometimes.

because I do - what later when I clam down classify as - childish acts and later regret doing them

because I’ve proven that I have not learned from past experiences of frustration and how to control my reaction in those moments

…and for all that, I offer my apologies!

So many questions…

May your souls rest in peace, VTech massacre victims. My condolences to their families. I hope God grants them the patience as they cope with their dear loss.

I just finished watching the series of what NBC referred to as a multi-media manifesto.

Grotesque, disturbing and very sad.

How could someone have so much anger residing within? So much resentment? So much rage?

Anchor Brian Williams said it was ‘a sick business going on the air with this stuff, but felt compelled as journalists but showed restrained because all of us are human, parents and spouses.’ Part of me agrees with NBC airing some of the videos and photos, for we need to know what people - who appear quite normal - are capable of doing. But at the same time, some of what was said by this crazed murderer could be inspirational to other sick minds out there.

If he was mentally ill, why was he attending school with sane people? Why weren’t his suite-mates and professors informed of his mental condition? Of his stalking record? And just as importantly, why was he able to purchase a gun?

A lot of issues and questions need to be addressed and raised as a result of this unfortunate incident - the worst school shooting in American history … a massacre that took the lives of innocent people as they attended classes. No Mr. President, I refuse to believe that these students and teachers were ‘in the wrong place at the wrong time’…they were doing what they’ve been doing every single day in the same place, at the same time since the beginning of their school year. The wrong place at the wrong time analogy does not apply to just any situation.

As we look back at what had happened, we need to address security. We need to address gun control. We need to make sure we are doing all that is within our capability as a nation to ensure the security of our families, students, teachers, employees and average citizens.

Again, may their souls rest in peace and may God grant their families the patience to get through these tough times.

Terror at home

Instead of trying to police and provide ‘peace and security’ through out the entire world, why don’t we worry about what goes on at home first!

On Character…

The World says No to israeli Occupation

Under: Uncategorized, Palestine, Around The World @ 6:29 pm on Saturday, 04.7.07

“The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is about to go underground ‹ into the Washington subway system, to be exact. Beginning May 13, some 20 downtown Metro stations will be emblazoned with posters advertising a June 10 rally and march in Washington protesting “Israel’s illegal military occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.”

Initially, A CBS Outdoor ( the New York-based company that handles in-station advertising for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) account executive refused to place the organization’s ad, claiming in a March 9 e-mail that it was “too offensive to be displayed in a public place,” according to Arthur Spitzer, legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of the National Capital Area.
The executive vice president in charge of marketing, rejected the ad, saying it appeared to violate company policy. “The ad,” she explained in an interview, “included a picture that I felt was inflammatory and was exploitative of children.” How so? it’s presenting the reality of thousands of Palestinian children. It’s not, in anyway, misleading!
The issue was solved, the ad will be displayed in Metro station in Washington beginning May 13. [source]
The ad is dominated by a photograph of a child who is facing a giant tank that looms menacingly in the near distance. The accompanying text reads in part: “Imagine if this were your child’s daily path to school. Palestinians don’t have to imagine.” In larger, bold letters, it also reads: “The World Says No to Israeli Occupation!”
