A ‘Hijabi Hopeful…’

Under: Uncategorized, hahaha @ 12:27 am on Thursday, 11.8.07

Browsing some groups in Facebook, I came across Da Hijabi Code group, and I quote as it appears on Facebook, even with the typos. I can pretty much relate to …pretty much all categories below… Enjoy! :D and by the way, what hijabi are you?

Da Code: Hijabi’s DONT DATE! (if Hijabis do date then Hijabi’s don’t steal other Hijabi’s Boyfriends) Hijabi’s DONT DRINK! (and if hijabis do drink then hijabis don’t let other hijabis drive drunk)

WHAT HIJABI ARE U?

1) HIJABI HOEs: They are the Hijabis that wear the Hijab then try to even out not showing thier hair with short sleeves, capris and the all famous low cut tops. These girls give other Hijabis a bad name. You might spot one of these “Hijabis” in a group of Ahem! guy “friends”. This group of too “friendly” Hijabis do everything a muslim let alone a Hijabi should NOT do. We hope none of u fit this description…if u do…we say to u with nothing but love…Respect the Hijab…Stop being a HOE.

2) HALF HIJABIs: These lovely ladies are the ones caught in the Limbo between Hijab or No Hijab. “to be or not to be” is the question for these girls. With thier Hijab half on thier head and half off…u never know what they will do next! On the bright side though guys dont have to wonder whats hiding beneath those hijabs cuz these half hijabis give everyone a sneak peak 24/7. We say to ya’ll with nothing but frustration..MAKE UP UR MIND! (ur confusing the kafirs.)

3) HOT HIJABIs: Ya’ll know who u are. these are the fabulous lookin girls that usallay match from thier hijabs to thier flipflops. These brightly colorfull Hijabis manage to look Oh So Fabulous while covering themselves completely. We give Two Thumbs Up to these Beauties! Keep up the good work!

4) HARDCORE HIJABIs: You’ve seen’em. The girls who are so Hijabi they might as well be Nikabi. These are the girls that dont wear alot of makeup, wear abayahs and have that look that says “dont screw with me”. While these girls can at times be scary…We have nothing but respect for the Fabulous Few. These Hijabis are rare …but then all great things are.

5) HIJABI HOPEFULLs: These are the girls that cover themselves modestly, respect the Hijab and one day hope to become one of us. We have one thing to say to ya’ll…Come Join Us on The Other Side…We promise Its better here.

*Disclaimer* We take no responsabilty for anyone finding the above material offensive. Although if u were offended , we apologize and hope you find your sense of humor.

Mad respect for “da code”

ok I don’t think I really fit too well in any of these, I’ve crossed into the hijabi hoes before and I’m a fashionista, probably the only mit7ajba girl ever to work at bebe, but wouldn’t call myself a hot hijabi, my hijab itself is usually very simple I usually just wear black 2 pieces (matching your hijab with your flipflops is usually tacky, I try to keep things simple and classy).

I’m sort of confused about this whole hijab thing. In Jordan, I’ve found some Hijabi girls extremely open minded, even more open minded and well read than plenty of non-hijabi girls, so I just want to say that the Hijab has nothing to do with how open minded or well educated you may be. On the other hand, you have some hijabi girls, especially at JU, who smoke, talk to guys and even sleep with guys. Sometimes I feel they’re hypocrites. But I’ve finally decided that you can’t call them hoes, because I feel bad for them. Maybe they were forced to wear the hijab? Plus everybody makes mistakes?

Anyway, one rule of thumb that I follow, is to never judge women in Jordan. Because they’re under tremendous pressure and I really feel for them. If it’s not pressure from their parents, it’s pressure from society, if not from society, it’s work-related, the list could go on forever. I know that the thing here is just a joke, but we really need to stop judging other people.

Q, Fabujabis a fabulous hijabi?

asoom, lol…that’s classic! and yep, simple is classy!

Pheras,

so I just want to say that the Hijab has nothing to do with how open minded or well educated you may be.

Absolutely true! Thinking otherwise would be quite pathetic!

On the other hand, you have some hijabi girls, especially at JU, who smoke, talk to guys and even sleep with guys.

There is nothing wrong with talking to guys provided it’s within well and clearly defined boundaries and I can argue that there is nothing wrong with smoking…but sleeping with guys is wrong and very sleazy period…and defeats the purpose of ‘hijab’ …

No matter what type of pressure a woman is under, if she is to and continue to engage in immoral and wrongful acts willingly (and yes, I consider sleeping around immoral and wrong!) then, in my opinion, she has no business wearing “hijab”…

Define “judging” other people?

Dave, which one do you like? ;d

mo, You cannot get more politically correct than this :P

Kerr, I am a ‘hopeful’

Ola, in my short stay in Amman I was able to see all of the categories listed above on Amman’s streets -and that’s what I meant by ‘I’ (especially that I don’t wear hijab) relate to almost all categories…

I don’t quite fit in any of them, but I’m closest to “hot hijabi” although I don’t match my flipflops with my hijab. Actually I don’t wear flipflops with my hijab. They just don’t go together!

Interesting point of view. For any hijabi, here is a shirt just for you, and for those hijabi lovers!
