My “I Hate” for the week…

What’s the point of a Wedding Reception/Party?

Isn’t a very important part of this very intimate night is so we can enjoy each other and our day with our family and closest friends? How will you enjoy by being on two separate sides?!
If you choose to have a separate wedding, I guess it’s your right; it’s your night after all…it just doesn’t make sense to me what-so-ever…Religious reasons?! okay, I may be a bit dense, but it still doesn’t make sense…Once you start going to ’separate’ restaurants or ’separate’ malls, it may start making a bit more sense then!

I HATE separate weddings…

I hate weddings! We’re celebrating that two people are going to finally get laid because .. well in eastern culture that’s the first time in their life .. We’re so happy about it that we broadcast it to the UNIVERSE ..

secratea, you mean you’re not going to have a magician at your wedding?:( heheh

Qwaider, Where did that come from? What’s the ‘Western’ reason for having weddings then?!

Secratea, C’mon…I don’t like weddings either but I think I’ll have fun planning mine…and the BEST part about it will be the traditional zafeh troupe:D.ooli inshallah:D

Summer… exactly…not fun at all … the ladies start stripping, and with all honestly most of them are better off all covered up!

Iman, i have a “constant missing” to chicago, but not when it is so so cold!! although i love X-Mas time and shopping during this season. I am happy to be here when it is warm and nice, despite the explosions! it beats any cold :)

    Iman :)
The point of a wedding is to celebrate the union of two people. I understand what you mean about separate weddings seeming to defeat this purpose. But, the only reason separate weddings are separate is because the bride wears hijab, and would still like to dress up and look like a princess (with hair) on her special day. How is she supposed to accommodate those two things? If she has a mixed wedding, then she will have to cover her hair, and not reveal her vanity to other men (if that’s what her hijab means to her). How is that fun for her or even the guy? In a separate wedding, her husband can come in a few times and spend some time with her while she spends the rest of the time with her friends and family. Seems like a good compromise to me.
Ok, this is getting too long…
