Darkness

January 21, 2008 | Category: How Outrageous, Palestine, Uncategorized

I’ve written more than 5 posts on 5 different instances about the Gaza situation over the past weekend…and deleted all 5 before publishing any of them … Anyway, to say mildly, the situation is beyond absurd … Yes the occupation sucks…Yes the occupation is barbaric…Yes the occupation is the root cause of all the crap (I feel this is the most expressive word I can come up with at this time) that Palestinian men, women, Children, cities and towns have been enduring and continue to endure… But right now I want to give myself the right to blame some for the latest humanitarian crisis, the latest misery, the latest catastrophe on the Cancer of Palestine - Hamas! They are the source of the misery Gaza and Gazans have been plagued with… It’s time to put the firecrackers away and think logically of the best way to get your people out of the misery you (of course with the help of your very people, as they are the incompetent citizens who voted you in to begin with) put them through since you ‘liberated Gaza.’

End the Siege!

    Isam, thanks for the link.

mo, Technically their firecrackers are somewhat of a cause… perhaps if they take the time out to assess their demented policy, then maybe things can start to relatively ‘light’ up again!? just maybe?

ok .. so if the rockets stopped tomorrow then israel would leave gaza alone .. is this what you’re telling me?

tell me what have the “ramallah” policies achieved?
    the checkpoints are still there
    the wall is still there
    settlement hasnt stopped
israeli raids and killings and arrests continue

Yes the occupation is the root cause of all the crap

Hamas! They are the source of the misery Gaza and Gazans have been Plagued with

I don’t think Fatah can afford to fight on two fronts, and we live in a world where the majority agrees that “root causes” trump “sources.” So if I were you, I would focus on the first.

Im either with or agianst Hamas as I think that all leaders when they become political ones they become corrupted and simply Hamas has become one and do not care about teh situation in Gaza or Palestine. Even if Hamas left the Power to Fateh, Israel will continue on what its currently doing. We will not earn repect until we respect ourselves, fight for our rights, and start believing in our cause. This doesn’t mean that we have to go blow ourselves but simply right about the hundred of thousands of miserable stories about Palestinian refugees and start a dialouge with the west.

    Hi Iman,

You have my praise and congratulations for having the courage to say what needs to be said: It’s time to take the responsibility, to look inward, at one’s own people and say whether the leadership is actually serving the benefit of the people.
The Empeoror’s ne clothes have revealed a very naked leader.
If we look to other areas of the world, we find that those who did what you suggest(think logically of the best way to get your people out of the misery), are those we honor today.
Here’s a quote from Wikipedia related to Nelson Mandela: “his switch to a policy of reconciliation and negotiation helped lead the transition to multi-racial democracy in South Africa.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_Mandela
